Barry Johnson is one of the most experienced practitioners in the specialized field of physician-equity healthcare ventures — combining rigorous legal compliance architecture with forward-thinking operational strategy across two decades of industry leadership.
As President and CEO of Channel Holdings, LLC, Barry leads a strategic advisory platform developed over twenty years of hands-on expertise across medical device distribution, healthcare governance, and physician-aligned enterprise development. His work spans twelve physician-equity distribution entities operating in spinal implants, total joint replacement, ortho-biologics, and intrathecal pain management systems — collectively serving more than 25 hospitals across the western United States.
Barry's foundational expertise lies in structuring fully compliant physician-invested distribution entities — navigating the intersection of Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and CMS regulatory guidance with a precision that few advisors can match. The legal infrastructure underpinning his entities includes advisory letters from Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, one of the nation's preeminent healthcare law firms, and a compliance framework now formalized as the proprietary CSM Framework™ — a trademarked methodology currently before the USPTO.
Educated at the University of Mississippi and Harvard Business School, and credentialed by the FDA in medical device regulatory affairs, Barry brings an unusually rare combination of executive business acumen and deep regulatory literacy. Barry's reach extends well beyond healthcare. His expertise as a medical and business consultant brought him to Hollywood, where he served as a consultant on the acclaimed series Grey's Anatomy — an engagement that opened the door to a dynamic parallel career in entertainment. He has since appeared as an actor in multiple feature films, commercials, documentaries, and television productions including How to Get Away with Murder, Grey's Anatomy, 9-1-1, S.W.A.T., and numerous westerns and detective series. Leveraging his business acumen and the relationships forged in Hollywood, Barry transitioned into the role of Executive Producer on multiple film projects — bringing the same strategic discipline to the entertainment industry that defines his healthcare work.
Barry is currently developing PRIME — Physician Resources & Infrastructure Management Enterprise — a next-generation physician practice management platform using a Management Services Organization / Professional Corporation structure, with an initial target market of HMO-employed surgeons in California.
